The National Center for Meteorology provides a range of specialized meteorological services to meet the needs of beneficiaries from both the public and private sectors, with the aim of leveraging the center's expertise, information, and data.
Main Services
Weather Forecasts
The weather forecasting scope involves providing accurate reports on current weather conditions and short-term future weather forecasts. This service aims to assist entities in planning and making informed decisions based on precise weather information.
· Weather Forecast Report Service: Issuing a report that includes weather forecasts for a specific location over a short-term period of up to ten days, using multiple sources and Saudi numerical models.
"Anwaa" Application
The application provides experimental weather radar services, allowing users to access and view:
· Weather news and rain forecasts.
· Information on weather conditions for the next five days.
· Radar maps, early warnings, precipitation forecasts, UV radiation, wind speed, humidity levels, and temperature readings.
Historical Data
The Historical Weather Data Service in the Kingdom provides climatic information spanning over fifty years, including data on temperature, rainfall, wind, air pressure, and humidity, gathered from monitoring stations to offer a comprehensive view of climate patterns across various locations.
The data is available in annual, monthly, daily, and hourly averages.
Climatic Studies
The preparation of customized climatic studies for specific atmospheric elements, based on requests from various entities according to their needs. These studies contribute to the development of projects and infrastructure in the Kingdom.
This scope includes:
· Climatic Study Service: Conducting climatic studies for various atmospheric elements and phenomena, covering specific regions.
· Weather Phenomena Reports Service: Providing accurate historical data and information about specific weather phenomena and atmospheric elements over a set period.
Operation and Maintenance of the Meteorological System
These are a set of services provided by the center to its clients, including the supervision, operation, and maintenance of weather stations.
These services include:
· Consulting Service for Establishing Manned Weather Stations at Airports: Providing technical consultations for the establishment of manned weather stations and setting up meteorological systems at airports in accordance with international regulations and standards.
· Manned Weather Station Operation Service: Supplying qualified technical staff to manage meteorological operations at manned weather stations, and issuing reports and bulletins for aviation navigation around the clock.
· Maintenance Service: Providing maintenance and calibration services for the meteorological systems at airports, as well as offering technical support services 24/7.
· Automated Weather Station Installation Service: Providing a mobile automated weather station for a specified period to measure and provide data on meteorological elements.
· Automated Weather Station API Integration Service: Connecting the automated weather station to the client's systems to allow for real-time weather data integration into daily operations.
Meteorological Platform
One of the center's initiatives targeting the business sector, which provides:
· Weather forecast information for specific locations for up to 10 days on an hourly basis, derived from numerical weather prediction models.
· Creation of customized notifications based on the beneficiary's needs.
· Displaying meteorological outputs in the form of maps.
· Conducting weather analyses and reviewing alerts for the beneficiary organization.
· Access to high-accuracy forecasts.
Licensing and Permit Services
This suite of services is available for local and international entities, as well as individuals interested in performing meteorological activities.
The scope includes:
Individual Licensing/Permit Services:
A document issued by the center to individuals who wish to work in the following fields: (Observer, Forecaster, Maintenance Technician). This permit is granted after meeting the National Meteorological Center's requirements and service eligibility criteria.
Entity Licensing/Permit Services and it includes:
Operating an Existing Monitoring Station: A document issued by the center enabling beneficiaries to operate an existing monitoring station upon meeting the National Meteorological Center’s standards and service requirements.
Meteorological Data Distribution and Utilization: A document issued by the center to allow beneficiaries to distribute and commercially utilize meteorological data and information services from the National Meteorological Center, in line with service terms and requirements.

Direct API Integration
The Direct API Integration service allows clients to receive real-time weather information, forecasts, and meteorological data directly.
This service provides:
· Weather Information Service: Current and forecasted weather data for the next five days.
· Kingdom Weather Report Service: A daily report describing the general weather conditions for the entire Kingdom for the next two days.
· Early Warning Service: Meteorological alerts issued by the early warning system, along with alert information.
Aviation Navigation
The scope of aviation navigation includes various navigation services and weather reports that enable airport control towers and pilots to make accurate and correct decisions regarding aviation navigation.
The aviation navigation scope offers five services for beneficiaries, which are:
· Airport Warning Service: Issuing special warnings that may affect the safety of airport operations.
· Meteorological Aviation Report (METAR) Service: Issuing hourly weather reports to assist pilots with takeoffs, landings, and in-flight operations.
· Special Meteorological Aviation Report (SPECI) Service: Issuing special weather reports in the event of disruptions, enabling pilots to make informed decisions during takeoff, landing, and in-flight operations.
· Airport Weather Report (TAF) Service: Issuing specific weather reports for airports, enabling airlines to plan their flights.
· Upper Air Weather Report Service: Issuing reports on weather conditions in the upper layers of the atmosphere.
