National Center for Meteorology Conducts “Rasd 8” Drill to Enhance Readiness for Hajj Season
The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) conducted the “Rasd 8” drill today, simulating weather conditions expected during the 1446H Hajj season. The exercise aimed to test the readiness of operations centers and coordination mechanisms for responding to early warning alerts across all levels (yellow, orange, red).
The drill is part of NCM’s efforts to strengthen preparedness and reinforce institutional coordination among key stakeholders, ensuring rapid response and appropriate action in the event of weather conditions that may affect the safety of Hajj pilgrims.
A total of 27 government entities involved in Hajj operations participated in the exercise, reflecting a unified national approach to enhancing forecasting and early warning capabilities and improving overall operational efficiency during the Hajj season.
